Laika is a name which most of you are familiar with: the first living creature sent to space...

To be more specific it means "barking" in Russian. But for us, it is the name of a creature which played an important role on humanities process of learning in the world we are living. This cute creature's, Laika's beautiful but tragic voyage should never be forgotten. Laika's name was always seen as a pioneer because Laika, is a creature which had the opportunity to see those mysterious stars closer, to look down on our old and tired planet for which most of us could give up many things. Many other creatures lost their lives in this unwilling journey Laika leaded but these experiences opened the gateway to space for us humans (Recent photos of the Hubble Space Telescope show us the incredible beauties of 12 light years). Haven't many other astronauts lost their lives in this process of discovery? And can you even question the number of people who would be willing to risk their lives to continue this exploration?
